A new way of watching television
When it was initially launched in the September of 2001, the Sky+ box signified an important evolution in the slide towards digital television. During the past few years Project Runway has rightfully staked a claim to be one of the US’s most popular reality television programmes. Aspiring fashion designers gain the opportunity to showcase their latest designs beneath the glare of a celerity jury led by the German Supermodel Heidi Klum.
Challenges are introduces into the show in order to test the skill and innovation of each potential designer. In early seasons this has included having to design an outfit for a specific personality such as Sasha Cohen or Miss USA, Tara Conner. On another occasion contestants were asked to design a complete range of clothing using non-traditional materials. The danger is that if you get it wrong, it’s not going to be long before Heidi Klum gets the chance to waive you away with an "Auf Wiedersehen".
