Sky Offers in a bundle

Selecting a Sky Bundle could well prove to be a wise decision. Cost-effective and comprehensive in range and quality, they are usually where the best Sky offers can be found. By combining your digital TV, broadband and phone into one package, you not only save money but limit your direct debits to one monthly, easy-to-manage payment.

If you want to organise yourself in one sweep (or one afternoon), then why not look out for the bundle packages that are available from Sky? The value for money on offer doesn’t stop at great television – it also applies to telephone service and broadband Internet. So, with all these great benefits up for grabs in a heartbeat, what are you waiting for? Get everything organised today.

Sky Offers and Vouchers

You’ll find loads of great deals and offers when shopping online for Sky bundles. The fun starts with the sign-up process: Sky usually offers new customers great deals when they sign up, such as free broadband for a specified period or a shopping voucher from Marks & Spencer.

Once you’re a member you can continue to claim Marks and Spencer vouchers by recommending friends to join too. We always have the latest offers here at TV Packages, but if you’re an existing customer you should check out Sky’s existing customer pages and see what they have on offer.

The Sky Sports bundle

If you’re a sports fan who does not want to splash out on the full deluxe package, then the Sky Sports bundle might be best for you. Featuring the Entertainment Pack, entry-level broadband Internet and free evening and weekend calls, this provides some of the best services around.

With this bundle you get the Sports Pack, which gives you five dedicated sports channels including exclusive live events such as Premiership football and international cricket. But this is far from all. Across the board, 100 different events are covered by Sky during the calendar year, while sports that historically have not been considered commercial enough for television (think BMX biking etc.) are finding their own fans as they become featured on one of Sky’s many premium channels.

The Sky Movies bundle

The Sky Movies bundle is great value for the serious film enthusiast. It comes with access to all the Sky Movies channels, along with Sky Movies Box Office and on-demand services such as Sky Anytime and Sky Go.

This means you get a dozen movie channels, hundreds of on demand films, and 11 movie channels available anywhere in the UK through Sky Go. This in turn means that by simply connecting to the Internet using an iPad, iPhone or computer you can watch movies anywhere, anytime. Additionally, Sky Movies Box Office lets you stream the latest DVD releases as soon as they become available in the shops.

The Sky Movies channels have been broken into sections to provide you with a wide selection of entertainment. Sky Movies Premiere and Showcase provide you with the latest Hollywood blockbusters while Sky Movies Indie, for example, gives you access to… yeah, you get the point.

All in all, by combining Sky Movies with a bundle and getting broadband access at the same time you’ll be giving yourself as much access to film as it is possible to have in the UK, short of getting yourself a job in Blockbusters.

Sky broadband and phone bundles

Once you’ve decided on your TV package, it just remains for you to choose the type of broadband and talk plan that you want.

Sky has two different broadband options. You can either select their basic option, which gives you a 2 Gb monthly download limit, or opt for the Unlimited option. Frankly, if you intend to use your broadband for any sort of video streaming then the Unlimited option is essential.

2 Gb is a pretty poor monthly allowance these days, and it’s fairly puzzling why it remains so low. Anyone with an Internet-compatible TV should especially avoid the basic option as it will not allow you to make use of sites like You Tube and BBC iPlayer.

After having made your choice on the broadband option, you can then choose whether to include a phone option that includes evening and weekend calls or talk anytime.

Elementary

The next instalment of the Sherlock Holmes saga will air on Sky Living this October.

It’s hard to imagine Cumberbatch’s Sherlock being upstaged by any US adaptation, but then again we thought a modern update of Doyle’s detective series wouldn’t pass muster. Purism’s fine but we’d advise an open mind when it comes to Holmes.

Elementary sees Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) torn from Baker Street, London after a stint in rehab and repatriated to the Big Apple, where he sets up home with a female Dr Watson (Lucy Liu). There’s plenty of tales about Englishmen in New York, but when that man is the great deductive detective himself this will be far from obvious viewing.

A brave take on the cult detective to be sure, and we’re certain diehard fans will be spitting with rage but an alternative take on the Holmes/Watson relationship should make for an interesting watch this autumn.

The Editor's
Hidden Gems

hidden-gems-strike-back-vengence-sky-one

This action packed drama has now returned to Sky One HD for a ten part instalment of kicking ass and taking names every Sunday.

Strike Back has more in common with 80s action thrillers than anything else that you’ll find on television at the moment. If you find yourself needing to take a break between Call of Duty sessions – than this is the next best thing to fill your time.

The new series begins with the kidnapping of a British diplomat by Somalian Warlord Huseyin Waabri. It’s only a matter of time before Section 20 operative Damian Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) is dispatched to Mogadishu to make all right with the world.

For a satisfying hour’s television Strike Back has the lot, gratuitous violence courtesy of the Cinemax production partnership and sexual scenes of which there’s a surprising amount of considering the war torn setting.
